John ‘Eesa’ Starling, an American convert, was born and raised in North Carolina. During his studies at North Carolina State University, John aided in the creation of Al-Qawlul Mufeed assisting with its design and distribution. After graduating from NCSU’s college of management with a BS in Business Management John went on to further his education at the Islamic University of Medina, Saudi Arabia. In the semester prior to receiving his associates degree with honors in the Arabic language he revived the publication becoming Al-Qawlul Mufeed’s editor-in-chief and main translator. Since then, John has become active in inviting to Islam in America and publishing various other works both written and audio. He is currently in his last semester in the Islamic University of Medina’s College of Islamic Theology and Mission and continues as Editor-in-Chief and active contributor with Al-Qawlul Mufeed.

Rasheed Barbee, a North Carolina native, accepted Islam in 1994. Soon there after he traveled to Yemen where he would learn the Arabic language and study Islam. Rasheed also traveled to Kuwait furthering his quest for Islamic knowledge and has visited several other Muslim countries such as Egypt and the United Arab Emirates. He has been translating Arabic material for over 10 years contributing to a number of publications and websites including Al-Qawlul Mufeed and edawah.com. Having served as Imam at Masjid Tawheed was Sunnah for several years now, Rasheed is heavily involved in Dawah in America delivering lectures and presentations about Islam to both Muslim and non-Muslim audiences, he also maintains the masjid blog and continues to contribute to Al-Qawlul Mufeed.

A convert to Islam, Iyare ‘Abu Abdir-Rahman’ Omoruyi was born in Chicago, Illinois where the bulk of his extended family lives. He finished his secular studies in North Carolina which culminated in a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from the College of Engineering at North Carolina State University. During his time at NCSU, Iyare aided in the distribution of Al-Qawlul Mufeed in its first period of publication. Upon graduation he traveled to various countries in the Muslim world namely Bahrain, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates sitting in various circles of knowledge in order to acquire a more thorough understanding in the sciences of Islam. While in Egypt, he immersed himself in the study of the Arabic language at Al-Ibaanah Institute and at The Nile Center (Markaz Nile). Iyare has worked as a teacher in the Middle East since 2003. Most recently, he served as class teacher of an Islamic school in Sharjah, The International School of Creative Science owned by a renowned Quranic recitor. Iyare, once an active reader, is now an active translator with Al-Qawlul Mufeed.
